Hang on a second while we grab that post for you.
We’ve got some news about the Firebox Inventor Competition.
Thanks so much for taking the time to enter our Firebox Inventor Competition 2011/2012. Thanks also for your patience whilst we deliberated over the hundreds of entries we received.
Unfortunately we’ve got some bad news. Although we received some interesting entries, sadly we didn’t receive anything commercially strong enough to pursue this time. Nothing that screamed ‘WINNER’.
Ultimately this means that, with heavy hearts, we’re going to have to officially cancel the competition. We’re sorry it’s taken so long to reach this decision and communicate it to you. It’s been a tough call. Bringing a product to market is a tricky affair, especially without something scorching to get behind 100%.
We loved hearing from everyone and certainly don’t want to discourage anyone from trying to make their dream invention a reality. After all, it’s just our opinion. We don’t know everything! (Not even close).
We still love the idea of finding great products from our friends and customers, so expect the Inventor process to have a makeover and appear sometime in the future. However, until then - we hope you have a wonderful end of the year and a brilliant Christmas.
Our mates at Surface Tension Tables dropped this badboy off at Firebox HQ.
Needless to say, productivity has dropped and the office is loving the 8-bit retro sound effects.
Should be joining the WTF?! Family in the not too distant future.

Wayne Hemingway’s Vintage Festival @ Wilderness is definitely one for the cool cats so we were delighted to see two of our coolest tents there in all their glory. And put up supremely well too we might add.
Send us more of your festival / Firebox pics!
We got an email about this little printer today. Its actually called the Little Printer and is finally going into production. Hurray!
How does it work? You basically subscribe to online publications & news sites, puzzles and your friend’s social newsfeeds via an app. You then syndicate your smartphone with the device and it will simply print out a miniature newspaper as and when information comes through - or once a day like an old fashioned newspaper.
Berg is working with people like Google and The Guardian to bring this to market. Hopefully we’ll be stocking some. Watch this space.

It will happen one day. Until then you can use the http://www.firebox.com/product/5329/Arcadie-for-iPhone to practice.
